The History of Rosie's Italian Grille

The first Rosie’s was in a building on Sylvania Avenue, owned by Phil’s father, the late John Joseph Barone. The Barone patriarch was a lawyer and real estate developer who rose from the cleaning crew at Ohio State University to sit on its board of trustees. He owned the building in which his young sons Phil, John, and Mike opened a deli with an adjoining game arcade. “Mom came in to help out with her pinch of this and dash of that. Probably the hardest part was translating her recipes, but it was worth it” said Phil.

Soon the brothers closed the deli and opened the first take-out pizzeria in an old 7-11 down the street. Over the years we realized how we could best display Rosie’s fine dining, keeping the traditional seasons accurately reflecting original italian cuisine and that was to focus our energy within our own community. Voila, Rosie’s on North McCord is born, and that is where we call home today.

MEET OUR CHEF

Executive Chef Eric Kish has married century old family recipes and tradition with cutting edge skill and talent. This winning combination is for all to enjoy when stepping into Rosie’s Italian Grille.

Chef is quoted as saying, “The Barone family pushes me to be the best. To be successful, one must be hands on involved. Your entire staff is a major player, both front and back end.”

Everyone has to be on the same page to make the wheel turn round. They are all part of the success here. Passion for great food and giving top service must be a part of your make-up here at the Grille.

I look forward to keeping my guests interested and guessing with my creativity.”

Pamper your family, friends, or colleagues with an exquisite lunch or dinner at Rosie’s Italian Grille.
